  1. Under wings of the Zilant: a Golden horde timeline

Would late 15th century musket tactics and technology already been good enough to defeat frontal cavalry charges? Anyways, a cool chapter. Portugal has made itself the terror of the Indian Ocean. How long will they be able to maintain it, before understanding of European ships and tactics spreads?
  2. Ghastly Victories: The United States in the World Wars

A North Africa where the Italian tanks are better than the British, what a wacko world this is! Italy is definitely doing better, but unless they reach Alexandria it is not consequential. That last paragraph is interesting an ominous. A British high command that gets drunk on the belief that...
  3. Ghastly Victories: The United States in the World Wars

Yugoslavia as a full (if very unstable) axis member and a Vichy-esque Greece?!? That's a little terrifying. Though perhaps Greece will get forced into the Allied camp anyway if Demir acts. No way he can take smyrna alone though, would the Germans support him wagging the dog? This could be a...
  4. Into the Fire - the "Minor" nations of WW2 strike back

Glad we're back in Europe, with all its minor nations. The pacific theater was wearing on. How successful was the British bombing of the ploesti oil fields? If it succeeded that's a major impact on the war.
  5. Into the Fire - the "Minor" nations of WW2 strike back

Surcouf's submerged range was about 70 nautical miles, that's less than 8 hours of travel it its speed. It can not run an entire 12 hour day submerged, and presumably cannot snorkel like late-war uboats.
  6. The Two Eyes of the World: A bigger Sassanid Persia

This is interesting. With a lot of land lost in the east including the important granary of Egypt, would the Roman Empire even bother to split in two like OTL (if Iran can hold it)?
  7. Ghastly Victories: The United States in the World Wars

Oh god that last line effectively confirms the remaining French ships will be used by the Axis. Whether under Vichy flag or German who knows, but either way Churchill's paranoia has caused even more damage than OTL. Interesting ASB idea, something ISOT 300+ million years ago?
  8. Into the Fire - the "Minor" nations of WW2 strike back

Thanks for the map. that clarifies things. The Indonesia campaign is in in full swing. The Duch submarines have been performing OK so far, but I hope Doorman's surface fleet won't take all of Ship-a-day Helfrich's thunder!
  9. Into the Fire - the "Minor" nations of WW2 strike back

The navy "chickening out" will not be good for the IJA-IJN interservice rivalry.
  10. Into the Fire - the "Minor" nations of WW2 strike back

McArthur will be well respected on TTL's AH.com. A scary thought. And oh man the IJA is doing poorly, is there any place they have not performed below expectations? Looking forwards to the chapter on the "Singapore Express", running frequent supply ships through Japanese controlled waters...
  11. Three Men, One Island - A Cuban Missile Crisis timeline

Oh boi time for Warlord Period II Atomic Boogaloo. A China-sized Somalia-style anarchy would be horrific.
  12. Ghastly Victories: The United States in the World Wars

OK thanks for the info. Out of curiosity, what sources did you use to learn what he was up do before/during the war in detail?
  13. Ghastly Victories: The United States in the World Wars

The exiled Vietnamese emperor being on the island and being opposed to Vichy is OTL, but the Wikipedia article is too sparse to tell if him being in a key Free French command position happened historically. How did he get to a major radio anyway? That the book bothers to note his participation...
  14. Three Men, One Island - A Cuban Missile Crisis timeline

Indeed, a tragedy. 80% population death is on paper survivable... but with all of its cultural icons and most of its intelligentsia dead, one cannot say the Russian nation remains. Gorky is lucky to have survived. On paper it's very useful for rebuilding civilization, with its many machine...
  15. Into the Fire - the "Minor" nations of WW2 strike back

Seems instead of a Burma Front we'll have a Thailand Front. The thais will get to show off, but I fear the country overall will suffer badly. Of course there's Vietnamese troops, but will any of them get promoted to officers? Or Will they be restricted to grunt roles? France and Canada is one...
  16. A winter in Smolensk, a sixth coalition TL

IS France going to last much longer than OTL? In spite of his earlier performance he is still fighting the grand Battle Of The Nations on OTL's schedule with similar forces.
  17. Into the Fire - the "Minor" nations of WW2 strike back

Japan expected it would be conquering a frontier outpost but France has fought like it's their homeland. And aside from maybe Algeria, it perhaps IS the jewl of their empire. But Japan's own brutality is in large part responsible. Had they conducted their war effort gently, the local people...
  18. Ghastly Victories: The United States in the World Wars

Given the trend of this timeline so far what reason would you have to think Germany would do anything except better?
  19. Ghastly Victories: The United States in the World Wars

Dang. Sorry to hear about your father. Turns out the Lorenz system is an OTL creation, surprised I never heard of it- sound like that thing insufferable wehraboos would harp about non-stop if nothing else. Anyways, Britain though herculean effort and damaging long-term aircraft development have...
  20. Into the Fire - the "Minor" nations of WW2 strike back

On the map, it's not going too bad for Germany. In materials and manpower, a different story.
